Hi! I’m Olly, owner and baker of Lapis312.
Born in Indonesia and grew up in Singapore, I was able to hone my palate through years spent shadowing my beloved grandmother in the kitchen. The love I had for sweets and desserts was innate, and with the support of my parents, I pursued towards a Pastry Program from The French Pastry School in Chicago. From there, I continued my pastry career which brought me to The Peninsula Hotel Chicago, Pierre Hermé in Paris and eventually started a pastry shop with my sister Marcella in Singapore called Ollella in 2016. I moved back to the US after getting married and I wanted to celebrate the flavors of Indonesia and South East Asia here.
I knew exactly how it feels to miss the flavors of home, having grown up away from my home country for almost my entire life. Equipped with my grandmother’s 65-years-old recipes, I want my products to be able to take you back to happy memories and sharing those stories to future generations about their roots.
Every single one of our products is made with the utmost care and attention, with high quality ingredients, such as imported Dutch Wijsman butter for our Kue Lapis Legit and premium European butter for all of our other products, to ensure that you enjoy it the way my grandmother would have made it.
